I have been a teacher in Alpine School District for 17 years and have had the privilege of knowing David McArthur personally for over twenty years. I can say without hesitation that he is the kind of leader our schools need. David brings to the table a genuine and unwavering passion for education.
As a long-time member of our community, David understands the unique strengths and challenges we face. He shows up and is always willing to roll up his sleeves and work. He does what he says he will do, and he makes decisions guided by what is right, not what is easy.
David also possesses sound judgment and a thoughtful, open-minded approach to problem-solving. He doesn’t come in with all the answers—he comes ready to ask the right questions, to listen, and to collaborate.
As a teacher, I know how critical it is to have advocates on the school board who truly understand the needs of educators and learners. David McArthur is that advocate. I’ve known David McArthur—and his incredible wife, Lisa—for over 20 years. I have the privilege of teaching alongside Lisa, who is one of the most passionate and effective advocates for students and educators in the entire state of Utah. It’s no surprise that David shares those same values. He is one of the most capable, reasonable, and hard-working individuals I’ve ever known.
With the Alpine School District split, we’re at a turning point. It is more crucial than ever to elect school board members who are not only committed to doing what’s best for students and teachers, but who are also willing to listen, educate themselves, and make thoughtful decisions that will shape the future of our schools.

I have been an educator in the Alpine School District for 35 years. During that time I have seen first-hand the importance of having strong and responsive School Board members. This is even more crucial as the Aspen Peaks School District begins a new era in public education in our community. The decisions made by our very first school board will have implications for generations to come.
I have known David McArthur and his family for many years and have great respect for them. I encouraged David to become a candidate for school board because I trust him to make decisions that will affect my career, the education of all students (including our grandchildren) and our taxes. David recognizes that student learning is at the center of our educational system and will make decisions to support the growth of all students. The first time I met Davy, I was moving and in need of service and he was the first to jump in and get things going. The past 15 years of knowing him have been no different.
Davy naturally sees a need in any situation and leads by example to make things happen and solve the problem.
